Counselling, Psychotherapy and Clinical Supervision based in Godalming and Farnham
Life can be difficult for all of us, at different times, for different reasons. Sometimes we can cope but at other times things can start to feel overwhelming. This is when it can be helpful to seek some counselling support. As a therapist, I can offer a safe and confidential space for you to talk through any issues or challenges that you may be experiencing. It can be helpful to explore what is going on for you, to share your fears, thoughts and feelings. I will not give advice or offer the answers to your problems but will remain alongside you and help you find your own way forward. This can involve exploration of your experiences and relationships as they can often inform who we are. Understanding what is challenging us and why can enable growth and self acceptance. My aim is to respond to you honestly and without judgement and gently challenge you to enable self-reflection, increased self awareness and different/new perspectives.
I am a professionally trained and experienced counsellor and supervisor working from private comfortable rooms at The Eaves in Godalming (GU7 7PH) and Farnham (GU9 1NJ), Surrey. I offer individual counselling in Godalming and Farnham to adults and young people (16 years +) and can provide both long or short term therapy. I also offer clinical supervision to both qualified and trainee counsellors. Daytime appointments are available and limited evening appointments. Both Godalming and Farnham counselling practices are easily accessible from their surrounding areas as you can see from the information provided on 'My Practice' page.
I understand that seeking counselling can be a daunting prospect and do my upmost to create an environment where my client feels comfortable and at ease. An initial 50 minute counselling session is an opportunity for us to meet, discuss your needs and consider if and how we can work together.
Please see my 'Testimonials' page for feedback from people I have previously worked with. It could provide you with a helpful insight of how I work as a counsellor and how counselling support has been beneficial to others.
I am happy to work with trainee counsellors undertaking personal therapy as part of their course learning and can offer a reduced rate (see my practice page for my fees).
Issues I Work With In Counselling
I have worked with clients experiencing depression, low mood and anxiety including panic/panic attacks. Exploring the root of these issues and finding new strategies for coping can help to improve life dramatically.
I have also worked extensively with clients, carers and families who have experienced loss, bereavement, and terminal / life limiting illness. Having someone to share your struggles with and to speak to confidentiality can be of huge benefit.
I am also experienced in helping clients who have experienced difficulties with :
